Since 2010, Blossom Ireland has supported young people with intellectual disabilities to be active participants in their communities. The young people and families with whom we work have always been at the centre of everything we do.

In order to ensure each student is making progress and to measure the impact of our programme Blossom Ireland measure pre-programme and post-programme scores for all the skills the students are learning.

At the end of the Blossom Gateway Programme we had to following results for the 2019 graduates:

Average increase in Social skills 43.14%
Average increase in Community Life skills 32.5%
Average increase in skills for Preparing for Life After School 51.88%
100% students graduated with increased skills
13 workplace tours orgnaised with employers such as AIB, Fitzwilliam Hotel, Fire Restaurant, and the National Gallery of Ireland.
9 students volunteered at Bloom Festival 2018
of parents said their child is engaging with peers in a meaningful way
of parents said their child now seems confident when out in the community and has some level or full awareness of safety when crossing the road
